Back on Schedule
For the past several weeks, I’ve been juggling working full time as a neuropsychometrist and making time for a new research assistant position I started in May. Today I finally started a more sane schedule: Mondays and Wednesdays working on research and Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays doing clinical work. The research position is the stuff my neuropsychologist-in-training dreams are made of, but it does require me to commute about 90 minutes each way from my home to Denver and back. I am currently looking for podcasts and audiobooks to help make the three hours in Baby Jeep more bearable; any suggestions?
The drive down this morning was a little… worrisome. It’s been oddly gray & rainy out here in Colorado lately and, coupled with a poor night of sleeping, I felt a bit drowsy at times. Thankfully, I had a coupon for a free Starbucks drink, which I turned in for a venti skinny vanilla latte. The SVL is one of those things that I’m not quite sure if I love or if I just tolerate because I’m supposed to love it. Like quinoa.
And then I had a fantastic day at work! I felt incredibly inspired when I left. Like, this is good and important work, and I’m very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it.

Tonight the SO and I went on a mini-date to Stuft Burger Bar in Old Town Fort Collins.

I love this place! This love there is no question about! I ordered chicken with spicy wing sauce, cream cheese, and a bunch of veggies on a bed of lettuce. (So, essentially the opposite of a burger.) It was delicious. Our waiter was also delightful as he told us about local brewery mishaps that have turned out golden, like how New Belgium’s Devil’s Advocate came to be.
Now I’m drinking a coffee I’m probably going to regret in about two hours while waiting for the SO’s softball game to finish. I’d be out cheering him on, of course, but the little coffee shop I’m sitting in is much warmer. I also needed some time to myself to process what the eff J. Crew was thinking here:
