Tomorrow, I’m not running as far as I’d planned.
I’m running a half marathon tomorrow.
I had originally signed up for the marathon.
I trained some, but my heart was never really in it. I tried to jump into training for 26.2 right after taking six weeks off to figure out why my heart ticks so swiftly. I ran 14 miles at one point. And then, I got some crushing news. It’s an excuse, I know, but spending time alone with my thoughts—whether lying in bed at night and running mile after mile—hurt for a good while. There was too much time to think too many bad things about myself.
It was a bit disappointing to pick up my marathon bib this afternoon, only to trade it in for the half bib. That passed quickly though as I got caught up in the expo energy.
Heck, I’m running 13.1 miles tomorrow.
And my 26.2 will come someday.
